Massage

Which massage session is considered a full body massage?

An hour or more is considered a full body massage.

What should I expect during my first massage therapy visit?

You will fill out our massage form, which is more like a health form. It is important to list all health concerns and medications so the therapist can adapt the session to your specific needs without doing any harm. It is also important to list any allergies so the therapist is aware if he/she needs to use a different oil or lotion during the session. Any forms over a year have to be renewed.

Do I have to be completely undressed?

You should undress to the level you are comfortable. For a full body massage, most get completely undressed. However, if you will be more comfortable during the session if you leave your underwear on, that's fine.

Can I ask my therapist to adjust for my comfort levels?

Please do. This is your treatment. Discuss with your therapist about pressure and technique.

How many weeks do you have to be in order to get a prenatal massage?

Our massage therapists can take care of you after 18 weeks into your pregnancy.

I purchased a massage package, can I separate them and give them to different people?

Massage packages are for one person only. They expire a year from date of purchase.

Nails

What is the difference between gel polish and regular polish?

Gel is more durable polish that is cured under a UV/LED light. It is instantly dry and can last up to two weeks without chipping.

What is a Shellac Manicure?

Shellac is a brand of gel polish we offer that is applied after having your cuticles trimmed, nails filed and buffed, and is followed by an exfoliating sugar scrub, hot towels, and a relaxing shea butter massage.

What is SNS?

SNS is a colored dipping powder that has a similar durability as acrylic but is not as harsh on the nail bed. Generally, you have them soaked off with each visit, which is similar to the removal of gel polish. Infused with calcium and vitamins, it actually helps strengthen the nail and keep it from breaking. It is a little thicker than gel polish, but it can also last up to three weeks.

What is the difference in the SNS and the acrylics?

Acrylic is applied with a combined powder and liquid solution and is built onto the natural nail as an overlay, or you can apply tips and build onto those for extended length and desired shape. It is recommended that clients get a fill-in between two and three weeks, depending on how fast their nails grow. At the moment we are NOT doing acrylic nails.

Can you add tips with SNS?

Yes, you can. Many guest who have extremely short nails actually like to get tips put on until their natural nails grow out long enough to where they do not need them any more.

Should I get a manicure/pedicure if I have a nail fungus?

We recommend that you come in and have a client consultation to determine the severity of the fungus before we agree to do the service. This is because some situations may require medical attention.

Body Wax

How to prepare for your body wax:

In order for a body wax to be successful, the hair needs to be about a quarter inch long (about 10 to 14 days of growth). Please note, this especially applies to first-time guests who have been shaving. The worst possible thing you could do to your bikini line is to wax too soon after shaving. Stubble is difficult to remove with wax if it is too short, so please reschedule if your hair is less than the desired length.

It is a good idea to exfoliate your bikini line – very gently – the night before your body wax. In fact, you can gently exfoliate your bikini line every day/evening. This helps deter those pesky ingrown hairs and aids in a speedy hair removal.

Come to your appointment relaxed. Anxiety can contribute to your wax experience being more painful. Some people have found that Advil or Motrin helps them before a body wax. We really do believe that if you prepare yourself mentally, your wax experience won’t be as bad as you anticipate. If at any time you are too uncomfortable to complete your wax, please let your aesthetician know immediately.

Men's waxing:

We do full body waxes for men. We offer this as a professional service only. If our aestheticians become concerned that you are not taking the services seriously, we will politely ask you to leave.

Men have higher levels of testosterone, so they tend to have much more hair than women, and it is much thicker and coarser. For this reason, men’s hair can be more difficult to remove than women’s and treatments tend to take slightly longer than a similar women’s service. We recommend gently exfoliating the area to be waxed before your appointment.

Men seem to “bump” up occasionally, especially on their backs. If you have a tendency to break-out, we suggest you take a cold shower or ice your back area after your appointment. We offer an aftercare product that help with ingrown hairs and irritation.

Does it hurt?

Removing hair from the root isn’t the most pleasant experience. However, with an experienced aesthetician the whole process can be relatively painless.

Will I be uncomfortable during my wax?

We strive to keep our guests as comfortable as possible. Our wax artists are trained and experienced professionals who will ensure that you feel at ease. For those who are highly sensitive, we recommend taking 1-2 Ibuprofen 20 minutes before your appointment.

How long will the results last?

Waxes usually last anywhere from 4-6 weeks, depending on your own personal hair growth.

Our aestheticians maintain the highest standards of sanitation. We always wear gloves and NEVER double dip into our wax pots.
